Tenor Guitar Head

"Tenor Guitar"

The tenor guitar has been in existence since about 1920 and was originally available for two distinct purposes, namely as a 4-string guitar tuned D-G-B-E, or as an alternative for banjo players, tuned C-G-D-A.

The one pictured here is tuned Irish fashion, ie G-D-A-E like an octave mandolin.

Because of the small guitar-size cavity, this instrument produces a powerful clear sound.
